José Luís Neto was born in Sátão in 1966.
Lives and works in Lisboa.
He has developed a meticulous investigation into image appropriation; the language and nature of photography; the photographic matrix, its scale and its support; processes and devices of registering; describing in the tautology of his search, in which medium and end merge, a meta-language for photographic processes.
Shortly his artist’s editions project will be launched, dedicated to publishing his own photographic work and its considered transformation into another format, principles which may be extended to other artists’ work in the future.
